**This is an in-person workshop**
Do you love libraries but dislike public speaking? Are you passionate that we need our legislators in Albany to support us but you become ill at the thought of making statements in their presence? This session is for anyone in RCLS member libraries who is ready to stand up for libraries, but needs guidance and support as we advocate for libraries in February (and all year round!).
During this session, participants will learn where to find information focused on their elected officials, craft a message with this learned information, and practice public speaking with the crafted messages. "Library voices" will be elevated as we learn about our elected officials and how to best communicate with them.
Jen Park, Government Relations Specialist, will be leading this session which is open to RCLS member libraries staff, administrators, and trustees. This session will be interactive and in-person only. Come prepared to engage in public speaking among a friendly crowd. Attendance will result in 2 CE credits for staff and trustees.
