This session will provide Library Directors with the opportunity to gain an understanding about the different types of funding available through the New York State Legislature. Join RCLS and Christie Foster as we walk you through the different avenues for discretionary funding that your legislative representatives have the ability to access. Reviewed will be the different programs, eligibility, timing and how to best position your library to receive extra funding for programs and projects.
Christie Foster has worked with organizations such as Access: Supports for Living and The Abelson Co. in roles related to development, public relations, fundraising and executive level operations. She joined the office of Senator James Skoufis as Director of Operations in early 2020, was promoted to Deputy Chief of Staff in the spring of 2021, and served until the summer of 2023 as Chief of Staff and Campaign Manager. Foster now runs a strategic consulting firm focusing on Government Relations, advocacy planning and communications.
