Civics Engagement & Education Series Session 4: Combatting Mis-Dis-and Mal-information: Staying Aware and Activating Truth Online

Ramapo Catskill Library System and the League of Women Voters have partnered to provide a series of educational sessions focused on civics education. Member libraries of RCLS and Westchester Library System are invited to participate these sessions. The rapid speed, scale, and scope of mis-and-disinformation is an evolving challenge in our society. Learn tools and tactics to stay informed, build networks of trusted messengers, and identify the facts over the falsehoods.

Chelsey Cartwright serves as the Program Manager for the Democracy Truth Project at the League. In this body of work, she strives to counter dis and misinformation and to advance a better public understanding of the democratic and electoral process. Chelsey works with Leagues nationwide to develop and implement trainings and events that advance this mission.

This session will be recorded and placed on NicheAcademy. Trustees and staff have the opportunity to receive 1 hour of continuing education for this session. For questions regarding this series, please contact Jen Park at jen@rcls.org.
